The new EAMS C&R and SRA do not allow me to specify which shoulder (left or right). Also, it won't allow me to indicate low back, only 420Back. Can I write in low back or do I have to stick with the body part number that the form provides?

EAMS has forced us to be creative, hasn't it? I have handled your problem by specifying the body part in the box in paragraph 9. I say something like, "the parties agree that the claimed injury is to the left shoulder and low back only as noted in the medical reporting, including that of AME/PQME/PTP/etc Dr. so-and-so dated ______. " I haven't had any problems with opposing counsel or judges with that language.

I hope that helps.

One of the WCJs who is providing training on EAMS told me that many documents end up in the unprocessed documents queue because the body part injury number does not match what is in the EAMS database. He said that documents would be processed with no entry in the injured body part field, but a non-matching entry would stop the processing. So until this glitch is fixed, my office is filing documents with those fields left blank.

Interestingly, he said the same thing for SSNs and dates of injury for CT claims. Your documents will be scanned and entered if those fields are blank, but will be rejected if you complete the fields and there is an inexact match with the information already on file.

Jon is correct. The official EAMS train the trainers provided the same information.

On the cover sheet, if you have the ADJ or WCAB number you are encouraged to NOT enter the date of injury, SSN or body parts. If you have the WCAB number you are encouraged to use the look up tool on the EAMS pages to find the ADJ number.

The right/left situation is handled just as noted, in para 8/9 note arm left, leg right, lumbar spine, etc...

I have not found the solution for entering mutiple periods of TTD on the Stip or C&R docs, however. I am awaiting an answer from the help desk on that one. Any ideas?
