I had treated a case referred by an adjuster with preauthorization as a secondary treating doc. Patient has been discharged since and I found out the case has been denied. Insurance company originally denied payment saying it was denied case. But once i was able to produce prior authorization from former adjster, they changed tone and will pay. However, it's been over 2 months since they stated that they've already sent the check and i should wait. I have my biller call them almost every day leaving messages and noone returns the call.

What's up with this case? Amount is only $600...

An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over and converting its opponents: it rarely happens that Saul becomes Paul. What does happen is that its opponents gradually die out, and that the growing generation is familiarised with the ideas from the beginning.

I would go ahead and file your lien to protect yourself. Have your biller call and request a copy of the check. When they are unable to produce the check copy request a Stipulation regarding lien payment including Penalties and Interest if you can get them. The Stipulation agreement should include language giving the carrier 21 days to pay or additional penalties and interest are due. If they dont pay get your case heard in front of the WCAB.
