Life is full of disappointments. First, it was SB899; now Pluto is no longer a regular planet.

I was wondering how long that was going to take . . .

Sorry it took so long but I only recently got my password on this side to work.

At least you can comfortably rest in the knowledge that everyone else here is 1) Too shrewd to fall for such an obvious set-up and/or 2) Not willing to lower their standards by publicly making such a low-brow pun.

Obviously, Zorro has a penchant for arcane references. Nobody yet commented on the difference between Surf Rider and Spudnick, but then, you have to have been a child of the '60's with a good ear for music. My favorite is the one about the rickshaws, though.

Mrs. Beasley,

I'd "Venture" a guess, but that band predates me somewhat. I'm a Who, Floyd & Moodies fan.

However, on the Jimmy Buffet song "Fins" the girl he sings about that "Came down fron Cincinnati" is one Betty W___man, a girl from my old neighborhood who was the first girl I ever kissed. It was 1st grade and she chased me under a table after I got a gold star on some project. We still keep in touch.

No lie. No exageration. Betty was a cocktail waitress in the Keys when Buffet was still just a bar band and paying to produce/release his first two albums.

It's a long story.

So much for arcane inferences...

With Zorro and I being so inclined, it's a-z...

They are a seminal/unappreciated "band" though. The Ventures. The band Zorro cryptically referred to. Now, thanks to him I miss my 1500+/- LP collection left back in Ohio. Jeeeezzzzzzz...

I just saw a Jeopardy! answer that was actually a commercial plug. I'm not surprised by plugs disguised as news pieces any more, but this is just too much! Is nothing sacred?

<sarcasm alert>Yeah I know! It was OK when the "News" Depts. went all commercial and/or tabloid on us and had their content watered/dumbed down but the audacity, the shear effrontery to besmirch such a hallowed and esteemed cathedral of the American intellect and collective consciousness as Jeopardy!? What else will those Ba$tard$ at Disney stoop to!<end sarcasm alert> No wonder it's called Walts Dead Now Enterprises!

Later...
