We have not put them on line yet because DWC is not done revising them. When the regs are approved, and the forms final, then we will post them. Presently, however, we are processing the lien form via our DWC Direct service. DWC Direct allows EDEX subscribers to automatically populate their OCR form, and then we handle the processing, printing and delivery of the documents. The cost is only $1.50 per form, up to 25 total pages (that is DWC's specified limit on the number of pages). Go to www.dwcdirect.com or call us (805-484-0333) for more information.

If we buy A/R and the paper is now ours to do with what we want, why do we have to have the doctor that sold us the A/R involved in anyway? per edex states we have to list each doctor, and I was told that every notice, or event or settlement will also be sent to the doctor, just because the doctor was the one that created the billing... even if they were paid for the A/R... I understand having the information of all the clients, in case we go under, or give back the files to the doctor, but in fact if I choose to not work the A/R I bought, then why should the doctor that already got paid by me get his paper back or knowledge of something he sold to me..... please help asap need validation on this matter

Hi CathiHon:

Not sure what the question is here. For your lien filing, since you bought the AR, YOU are the lien claimant. Just be sure to attach your "supporting documents" otherwise your lien may be rejected administratively. There is no definition of a "supporting document" - typically accepted is an itemized billing, but in the least must be some statement that you are making a claim of entitlement to reimbursement.

Thank you so much for this information, here's another issue i have, if i the collection agency for multi doctors, file the liens, serve all the docs work the paper, why should the dr. get all notices from edex as well as the agency, when any event happens on the liens i filed on their behalf such as, notice of hearing, order approving etc...
Thanks
Cathi

Because in the EAMS (or EDEX) system the provider is the lien claimant. It all depends on initial data input - SO if you file the initial lien and you are listed on the lien claim form as the lien claimant, you should get all of the notices etc. However, if someone else had filed a lien and put your doctor as a lien claimant at some earlier time then they will still get notices, etc. because you filing a lien does not "erase" the prior lien data. New data is just added, but there is no replacement. You would have to get a clerk to edit the database - which probably won't happen, at least not without a judge's order.

First rule of computing - garbage in = garbage out. Despite all the automation, these systems still require considerable human management.
