I have liens that need to be filed that have medical reports that are 19 to 30 pages.

Does the 25 pages rule apply? (#8 below and Note). I believe medical reports are the
exception.

I called the WCAB they don't know.

B. SCANNING SPECIFICATIONS FOR OCR FORMS &
DOCUMENTS: Paper forms and documents must comply with
the following, contained in the proposed regulations, to be
scanned into EAMS:
Be single-sided

1. Be in black ink on white paper
2. Use serif font (font with feet, like Times New Roman or
Courier)
3. Be on 8 ﾽ x 11 paper

4. Be on 12-pound (or heavier) weight paper (most typical
paper for copy machines is #20)
5. Not have text in the margins
6. Have the EAMS case number or legacy case number in
the first page caption
7. Have the attorneys information above the caption for legal
pleadings
8. Not exceed 25 pages (unless prior permission from
WCALJ was obtained)
9. Be double-spaced except for captions, quotes, etc.
10. Be free from staples, sticky notes and hole punches
11. Be without folds, wrinkles or tears
12. Be first generation forms only (not copies of copies)
13. Be legible

Note: Inasmuch as it is possible, medical reports should also comply
with the above (except the 25-page rule) to facilitate the scanning

Short answer - yes. Pages more than 25 pages will require a new cover and separator sheet. Note the OCR handbook says "should" not exceed 25 pages. In our experience, "should" in DWC parlance means "shall not".

Liens do not need a medical report. A medical report is not a supporting document for liens. Supporting docs = itemized billing or supporting voucher. see reg (as of 11/18) 10770 .

Thanks David,

I been sending Med reports for a long time now. I guess the AA should submit the medical report as evidence during the course of the case.

Hi David,

I found the 25 page rule does not apply to the Medical reports. I found this information on the EAMS website.
