The California Workers' Comp Forum will hold its convention at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach 10-29/31-08. I will have a booth to promote my Work Comp Index, 7th (2008) edition.

My booth will be outside the main exhibit area near a "service desk" in a hallway on the north west corner of the building on the edge of the beachfront patio.

The following is a link to my blog on "SWAG Factor" which also has a link to more info about my book.

Last of all, here's a link to find out more about the convention if you haven't already signed up:

I just got back from the Seminar. Very well done, though I heard attendance was down considerably from last year. The same was true this past summer for the Defense Attorneys' seminar in Squaw Creek and the Applicants' in Monterey. I think the Workers' Comp Forum had more exhibitors than either of the other two...and lots of great food!

I sold some books, passed out a bunch of fliers which will result in more sales and I got to meet Ginger Volz in person. She's a kick, a really neat person. Great sense of humor! She helped me out in my booth and we swapped war stories.

My only complaint was that the hotel charged for e-mail, which I don't like when the cost of the room for 3 nights was $800! They should have free wireless!

FWIW, I have the same complaint of the Portola Plaza in Monterey where CAAA has held several summer seminars.

Ginger,

Thanks again for all your help. We will definitely have to do that again sometime. You will always be welcome.

Also, as you can see from my earlier post, I accidentally have two logins here! The first one is correct, "stewshe@comcast.net" and the other is just "stewshe" which I created by accident.

In case anyone is interested, "STEWSHE" is my license plate...it stands for my nickname + my wife, Sheila who is called "She" by her family.

From those I spoke to that had planned to attend the 2008 conference indicated that the cost (has become) is a real issue. The day's of just writing out that check or pulling out a credit card are for many, over with. The budget simply can not handle the cost.
