Dear tech--I am new to this Forum/posting/editing system. I unfortunately edited many of my posts in the IW forum, not realizing this was a "cardinal sin". As a result of my "faux pas" (end ensuing critism, Iw ould like them restored, but I just can not figure out how to "un-do it". Can you help me in any way on your side?? I am sure the original, raw threads are there somewhere, but I don not know how to do this. Your assistance very much appreciated. I am severely "technically" challenged...
Your assistance is appreciated. Rumbler

Hi Rumbler:

There is no way to undo your posts. Once you have edited them then they stay edited until the next edit.

If you deleted a message we could retrieve it from "trash" but your edits are to the original post, which is a single entry in the database that runs the Forums. Sorry.

Dear Admin.--well, thanks for trying! I tried going through the "trash" on my side--but, no luck. When it is edited on the post--it is gone forever, like you said. But, at least I learned--DON'T Edit (except for grammar, etc).

Dear WCC tech- is there any way that on your side (in the future), that you could have a system to retrieve the edited posts from the original author, if the verified original author feels it is important to get them restored?

That would be great. I didn't "delete" the posts, as I could find no mechanism for doing so. I just edited them out, thinking that they could be retrieved at a later date, if needed.

Sorry for being such a "dummy"...

Rhanks for your assistance--Rumbler

Delete? I don't see any button for delete. Just edit. Is there a delete function somewhere?

And the issue wasn't just editing, it was completely removing the content of many posts in threads so that the threads no longer were complete and making sense. Rumbler and I have worked it out at this point, and she/he won't do that anymore.

AYLDT--that was the problem--I could NOT find a delete button--just "edit"-- I thought I had to go for the "whole banana" and I did not realize by doing so, that the original content that I posted, then edited, could not be retrieved by the author (me). I just assumed it was the same as "delete". What a mess I created for myself...I hope we have "worked it out", AYLDT. You wouldn't believe what other things I accidentally deleted,( Not here, just on my ownP.C., which I have only had for 3onths)and can not figure out..(.Never thought a P.C. could be so dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced user!)

As AYLDT pointed out, there is no "delete" button; it would have saved me a bunch of trouble trying to restore what I stupidly edited.
(But thanks to AYLDT and you, WCC tech I have learned my lesson the hard way! ). Maybe others "technically challenged "could benefit from the distinction.

Thanks WCC TECH for looking into this.

Dear admin/WCC--Well, as you probably know, I have been unable to "restore" posts that I had "edited/deled" and now there a whole bunch of blank posts. I truly did not realize how inconsiderate this was of me to everyone, and how deeply I may have offended others by this STUPID act. I have offered my sincere apologies to ALL, but I guess some things just can not be "un-done". Trust me, I will NEVER do that again!

So, is there ANY way you on your side could just REMOVE them (the empty ones)? If I have violated an agreement of this priviledge to participate in the forum, I also apologize to you as well.

Gosh, I am so sorry to have to trouble you with this, and thank you in advance for your considerable time and attention regarding this matter.

Very Sincerely,
Rumbler
